JET 708675PK – The Basics
This particular unit is great for a vast array of applications. Furthermore, both professionals and DIY-ers can use it without any major issues. In simpler words, this unit is quite easy to use and operate as long as you know how to do it properly.
The motor is powerful, but not impressive. It’s a standard 3HP motor that can be found in many other models as well. On the other hand, that doesn’t mean it’s not efficient and trustworthy. Safety is at a satisfactory level, but it lacks a few additional mechanisms. The accuracy is great. The 50-inch rip fence allows you to cut with great precision and without any deviations whatsoever. The base is made of cast iron which is an extremely durable material. Also, the harder the material is, the better the stability. Therefore, this unit can be regarded as quite stable and durable.
The Features
The design
One of the most notable features design-wise is the size of the table top. Even though many other models offer more than enough space, this one takes the win. In fact, you don’t have to worry about running out of work space; it’s spacious enough.
Furthermore, there is a built-in storage drawer for some of your tools. It’s not a unique feature per se, but it’s certainly a rare one. Needless to say, it’s quite a neat addition to an already versatile piece of equipment. As we said, the base is made of strong materials that provide a great deal of stability and reduce vibrations. In fact, the level of vibration is at a bare minimum.
This model comes with an exclusive 50-inch fence with a T-square design. It enhances and improves the overall accuracy and precision by quite a lot. The motor is protected by an industrial magnetic on/off switch which prevents damage in case of electrical fluctuations. Furthermore, it prevents the saw from suddenly restarting after a power failure.
Safety
The modular blade guard is a great innovation in the safety department. The model also features an anti-kickback pawl responsible for improving the overall efficiency while keeping you as safe as possible. The dust shroud is installed on the same part as the blade. Therefore, it always follows the blade when you tweak the height. As far as we are concerned, this model can be considered absolutely safe. However, make sure you read the user manual before the first operation and get familiar with the work principles.
Dust collecting
Like every enclosed unit, this model also features a 4-inch dust port. A flex hose connects the internal shroud to the external port. In simpler words, it features a well-engineered dust-collecting system which is quite effective. Make sure you tweak the external hose properly to avoid any interference with other components.

Instead, consider hiring somebody who’s specialized for the matter in question. Alternatively, you can ask some of your friends or neighbors to help you with the project. Either way, don’t do it alone if you don’t know how to.
