Hitachi C10FCE2 – The Basics
When it comes to decent quality and good precision, Hitachi is probably among the better-rated brands. Even though many people are reluctant because it’s a brand from the Asian market, the massive positive feedback says otherwise.
As far as this model goes, it’s great both for professionals and hobbyists. The powerful 15-amp motor offers more than enough for a vast array of applications. The miter stops are well calibrated and accurate. As you may know, a lot of units from this price range struggle with the precision of their measuring elements and it’s quite hard to find a group of models that are as accurate as they can be.
Safety is at a satisfactory level. There aren’t many impressive safety mechanisms, but it doesn’t matter, the thing that matters is the fact that it can be considered safe as long as you use it properly.

The design is pretty conventional. The materials used in production are pretty durable and sturdy. Steel, aluminum, and plastic are three main materials used for the design of this machine. When it comes to the choice of materials, we think they could have eliminated the aluminum from the equation. However, that would increase the weight of the whole unit by a lot. Therefore, it’s not the strongest or most durable unit on the market, but it should last for years as long as you maintain it in good condition.
Precision
When it comes to accuracy, it’s one of the best ones around. The miter base is well-designed and calibrated perfectly. In simpler words, you don’t have to worry about deviations due to improper measuring elements when C10FCE2 is in question.
Safety
Safety is okay, but not impressive. As we already said, there aren’t many safety mechanisms, but the ones that are included are pretty good. In fact, you don’t have to worry much about safety as long as you use the machine properly. For proper use, refer to the user manual.
Dust collecting
This model does come with an included bag for dust collecting, but it’s not what we expected at all. It works well, but the capacity is underwhelming, to say the least. Either way, don’t expect much when it comes to dust collection.

The first thing many people like is the price. In comparison to some other models that offer pretty similar features, it’s quite affordable and worth investing in. In fact, the C10FCE2 has a pretty low price considering its high quality of performance.
The other thing people like a lot is precision and the well-calibrated miter scale. It’s important for the measuring components to be well-designed or else the model lacks accuracy. This particular unit has an excellent miter scale and offers precise and highly accurate cuts. The ease of use is also a pretty significant advantage. Some units require a dose of previous experience, while this one doesn’t. Therefore, it’s an ideal solution both for professionals and the ones that aren’t as experienced. You can rest assured that you’ll get a hold of it quickly.
Things we didn’t like
It’s a very basic entry-level machine. Even though it can tackle a professional project well, it’s not exactly foreseen for heavy-duty tasks. Therefore, if you’re a busy individual with a ton of carpentry projects on your mind, you might want to find something more serious than this particular model.
Also, if you want to cut large angles on boards that are more than 6 inches wide – you can’t. On top of that, the included blade isn’t exactly something they should be proud of. We highly recommend that you switch the blade as soon as possible and improve the overall productivity of the unit.

People like this model for its accuracy, ease of use, and affordability. However, a vast majority of consumers said that it’s not a suitable unit for particularly demanding tasks. Installing a floor shouldn’t be much of an issue, but cutting roof beams to a specific angle may cause some trouble. Therefore, keep in mind that it’s not a perfect thing for a massive project. One frequent complaint was about shipping policies and quality control. Quite a lot of people got their models delivered with some parts missing. Whether it’s because of the shipping company or the manufacturer, we don’t know.
Conclusion
As you can tell, it’s quite a versatile machine. Truth be told, it won’t perform miracles, but it’s useful enough for many devoted DIY-ers. As far as we are concerned, it should be a worthy and cost-efficient investment, especially if you’re on a tight budget. The production quality is at a satisfactory level meaning you don’t have to worry about sudden malfunctions, glitches, and fails.
