The same could be said for the wheel swapping – the engineers of Porter-Cable have turned it into a fast and straightforward process.
The metal housing of this device protects (and dissipates excessive heat, too) the unit’s high-performing engine. Capable of achieving 8,500 RPM, it will allow you to use the model for all kinds of light-duty cutting and grinding tasks. It’s not the most powerful or fastest device of this type out there, but it does its job well and without hiccups.
Another thing we liked is the relative quietness of PCC761, although we still advise wearing hearing protection. Furthermore, it’s a nice thing that the package includes a couple of crucial accessories, such as the cutting and grinding disks.
Things we didn’t like
Tackling smaller projects with PCC671 is absolutely okay, but using it as a go-to tool for the really demanding applications is not something you want to do.
