Milwaukee 2735-20 – The Basics

The impressive construction quality of this job site lamp is evident right from the start. Combining aluminum, plastic, and rubber as its primary build materials, the model is resistant to dust and water (IP54 Rated). Having the pistol-style shape that’s typical for drills and drivers, the lamp is very easy to operate with, while its integrated hook allows hands-free use.

One of its most important features is undoubtedly the adjustable head, which houses a LED lamp that produces 160 lumens of bright lighting power. It can be rotated for 135 degrees, allowing the user to point the beam of light exactly where he needs it at.

Another advantage of Milwaukee 2735-20 is that it comes with a 5-year tool warranty, which is combined with the limited lifetime LED warranty. These show that Milwaukee is quite confident about the durability of the product – it should serve you for the years to come.

The Features

The Features

This LED work light was designed to last – it was manufactured from reinforced materials and can easily withstand accidental bumps and kicks. Its pistol-style shape provides optimal comfort of use, while the weight of just 12.2 ounces makes maneuvering as easy as it gets. Furthermore, a texturized over-molded grip on its handle reduces slippage and allows one to use the model in slippery environments.

When it comes to durability, one of the best features is the fact that the model’s aluminum head comes sealed. In other words, you won’t have to worry about water and dust getting inside and damaging the lamp. The fact that Milwaukee 2735-20 is IP54-rated gives the necessary peace of mind when it comes to working in harsh job site conditions.

Another great thing about the model’s design is the adjustable head, which can be rotated for 135 degrees. This makes it easy to point the beam light at the desired spot. Moreover, once the battery is attached, the lamp is very stable and can sit on the floor and illuminate your working surface at the same time.

Power

The 160-lumen LED lamp of this model delivers bright lighting and provides a sufficient amount of illumination when needed. The lighting itself is cool and has a bluish color temperature, although it’s not adjustable – you won’t be able to focus the beam at the desired spot. It is, instead, somewhat diffused, but still provides sufficient illumination to get the job done, especially when it comes to indoor use. There is just one button on the entire unit – the on/off switch.

Battery

The Milwaukee 2735-20 is compatible with the following battery packs: 48-11-1840, 48-11-1828, 48-11-1820, and 48-11-1815. Even when used with smaller, more compact battery packs, the model lasts a long time on a single charge and provides excellent illumination. The bare tool version comes without a charger and battery, but the unit can also be purchased in Milwaukee’s combo kits.

R

Things we liked about it

To withstand the harsh job site conditions, a LED work light needs to be sturdy and durable. Fortunately, the Milwaukee 2735-20 was built to last, as it is highly resistant to accidental drops and IP54 rated against water and dust. With this lamp, you won’t have to worry about reliability – it will be there for you whenever you need it.

When it comes to illumination itself, the model provides bright lighting that can be pointed to the desired surface thanks to its adjustable head. However, the beam is not adjustable, which is quite surprising for a work light of this size.

One thing we particularly liked about this lamp is the hands-free use. The flat, stable base and the integrated hook allow the user to place the lamp at a convenient spot and have it illuminate their workpiece when required.

Q

Things we didn’t like

The fact that the beam is not adjustable isn’t such a serious issue – after all, this isn’t a spotlight for search & rescue. The same can be said for the lack of the fuel gauge, as the work light doesn’t eat the battery as quick as your regular power tools, so there’s really no need for this feature.

.

General Impressions

Just as we expected, most of those who bought this LED work light agree that it offers a good value for the money. The users praise its stable base, powerful LED lamp, easy on/off button, rugged construction, as well as the convenient hook. Some even say that it’s the best device of this type they’ve ever owned and that it’s interchangeability with M18 batteries turns it into one of the most versatile tools in their workshops.

Conclusion

All in all, the 2735-20 work light is yet another quality product from Milwaukee and a serious contender for the best job site lamp in its price category. Although it has a couple of flaws, they’re almost unnoticeable when compared to the model’s excellent design and overall ease of use. Those who often find themselves working in places with low lighting will undoubtedly appreciate its useful features.
